Did you know that on average it costs the Make-A-Wish Foundation $6000 to grant just one Wish? We would love to raise enough money to take care of one of those kids’ wishes with our tournament.
I would like to invite you to take part in Wayne’s Wiffle for a Wish in 2011. In the tournament’s inaugural year we had 15 teams play wiffle ball for the Make A Wish Foundation of Maine. More than 80 players braved the wind and rain of Tropical Storm Danny on the last Saturday in August. In year number two we doubled it to 30 teams.
Before the games started we had a family from Bangor throw out the opening pitch. They were past recipients of a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, so they understood the importance of this valuable fundraising effort. Then we started playing the games, 39 in all, to crown one champion.
We raised $2000 in our first year and $5550 in our second. This year I’d like to raise enough to pay for one wish. I’d like to offer you a chance to be a sponsor of this year’s tournament to be held on August 20th, 2011. We have a number of ways that you can get involved and help a great cause with your sponsorship donations going to help kids in Maine. To become a sponsor, simply download and complete this form
